Dr. Blair Williams is a dual USA/Australian citizen (with a valid gold card employment visa for Taiwan) and experienced maths educator, first tutoring back in 1991 while beginning his maths studies at The University of Western Australia. After graduating with first class honours in pure maths in 1995, he participated in respected research in finite geometry as part of doing his PhD in pure maths (certificate shown above – and the key paper from the research can be found here). Recently, Blair has been doing some interesting work in the field of additive number theory (namely on twin primes).
Over the past decades Blair has built his maths educational background with a wide range of work and contexts across in-person and online formats – including online tutoring USA students in high school maths and college students from Georgia Tech and Purdue in linear algebra. In 2026, he began training a talented AMC 10 student in Kaohsiung.
The philosophy of maths.tw is to develop the ‘pure maths fundamentals’ of our students, leveraging Blair’s strengths in algebra and number theory. This makes us a great place to train any AMC 8 student and any AMC 10 student in (say) their first or second year of attempting the AMC 10. At the right time, they can then go off to a ‘score-squeezing’ service – but armed with much stronger foundations and likely a higher score trajectory than if they’d only used score-squeezing services from the start… plus, these are typically more expensive than us!
The tutoring interface for maths.tw is the online learning platform Scribblar.com, where each student receives their own online classroom, which can be accessed by them 24/7 (and in particular, where they can see and do the homework that Blair sets them after each lesson). Audio for the lessons is currently provided by Google Meet (though this is flexible, eg LINE or WhatsApp can work as well).
布萊爾・威廉斯博士(Dr. Blair Williams)是美國與澳洲雙重國籍公民(持有有效的台灣就業金卡簽證)，也是經驗豐富的數學教育工作者，他首次擔任家教是在 1991 年，當時他剛開始在西澳大學(The University of Western Australia)攻讀數學。他於 1995 年以純數學一等榮譽學位畢業後，在攻讀純數學博士學位期間，參與了備受敬重的有限幾何學研究(證書如上所示——該研究的關鍵論文可在此處找到)。近來，布萊爾一直在加性數論領域做一些有趣的研究(即孿生質數)。

maths.tw 的理念是培養學生的「純數學基礎」，並發揮布萊爾在代數與數論方面的專長。這使我們成為訓練任何 AMC 8 學生，以及任何處於(比方說)第一或第二年嘗試 AMC 10 的 AMC 10 學生的絕佳場所。時機成熟時，他們便可轉往「衝刺提分」的服務——但他們將具備更扎實的基礎，而且分數成長軌跡很可能比一開始就只使用衝刺提分服務的學生更高……此外，這類服務通常比我們更昂貴！
maths.tw 的教學介面是線上學習平台 Scribblar.com，每位學生都會在上面獲得自己專屬的線上教室，可供他們全天候(24/7)使用——特別是，他們可以在那裡看到並完成布萊爾在每堂課後出給他們的作業。課程的音訊目前由 Google Meet 提供(不過這很有彈性，例如 LINE 或 WhatsApp 也可以)。
